We used to put old ha'pennys on the line to be flattened by the trains.

My grandfather James Riach was stationmaster at Fortrose before the 2nd World War before he moved to Kyle of Lochalsh. Previously he had been station master at Avoch for a long time. My father, also Jim Riach was also a stationmaster at Achnashellach - Kincraig and Fearn.

Excellent picture. Brings back some memories in my earlier days of trainspotting.
