Junors

My grandmother was Annie Junor, she was in service in Fortrose about 1916 when she met my grandfather who was stationed at Fort George. She was one of about 8 brothers and sister. Some of the family are buried in Rosemarkie Cathedral. My grandfathers grave is in the old cemetary at the top of the first row to the left of the gate! I have a stack of photos i'll try to scan and post.

Researching family tree

Hi I am researching my family tree and I am looking for any information about the McLeod (MacLeod) family. I know my great great great grandparents John and Jessie McLeod ran the bakers on the high street. Their children were called Margaret (My great great grandmother), Isabella, Robert, Katherine and Janetta. I know at the time of the census, they had a Helen Gray and Benjamin Jack (van driver) listed as either working, visiting or living at the property. My great great grandmother Margaret McLeod was co-habiting with Donald McMillan (although I cannot find any evidence that they were married). They had a daughter Mary Margaret McLeod (my great grandmother) - If anyone can be of any assistance, I would love to find out more about them.

Rosemarkie Memories

Enjoyed looking at the pictures. Reminded me of my summer holidays staying with my grandparents who lived in the village. Also brought back memories of the time I was a student and worked in the Marine Hotel. Seems just like yesterday! I visit the Black Isle every summer and Rosemarkie has lost none of its charm.

I have just been looking at the pictures. We came camping to Rosemarkie in the summer time and love it here, has any one got any latest pictures of the snow now? I can`t wait to return next year. This site is really interesting also. The village is untouched and should always stay that way.
